Let’s just put it out there now: The gym is a place of work. We’re all about business first and play later. Get in and get out. Our workouts never exceed more than 90 mins in the gym. Same goes for our workout gear. With the surge of Nike and Under armor and their innovative technologies, some of the classic older brands have been relegated to stores where it’s not that cool to buy your clothes. Here at Genuine we don’t feel a compression workout shirt should be $65 dollars. Walmart is a perfect place to compile an expansive array of affordable workout clothes for your weekly routines. Brands like Russell at Walmart or Champion’s C9  at Target still make great workout clothes that won’t break the bank.

1. Russell Men’s Performance Tee with Mesh Inserts - $12.00

Everyone doesn’t love compression shirts, but we feel like if you sweat a ton, a black compression shirt won’t show that you’ve just ran the NYC marathon in 20 mins. For some the Neon is a bit loud, but Russell does have other none-loud options. If you feel like the Walmart option feels cheap, check out Targets C9 line.

2. Russell Men’s Sport Performance Boxer Brief - $9.00
3. Hanes Men’s 6 Pack No-Show Socks - $8.50
4.
Russell Men’s Woven Embossed Short - $10.00

Let’s stick to black shorts as well as compression underwear. If you don’t like doing the wash after each workout we suggest grabing a few pairs of each. No-Show ankle socks are good to have when working out. So far not a big hit to the bank and if you have all this you’re ahead of the game.

5. SUBLITE ESCAPE MT - $59.99

Nikes seem to have taken over the world, but we understand there are tons of other great shoes out there. Reebok recently repositioned themselves to appeal to more of the fitness/training crowd. These Sublites are not only super light, but they’re not super expensive. In a world with everyone wearing neon shoes that cost upwards of $100 dollars or more, its nice to know you can get a dependable, good looking shoe that will last with whatever you choose to put them through.

6. Minisuit SPORTY Armband - $9.95 (SALE)

Music and working out go hand and hand. This armband boast some great ratings and it’s fairly priced and not too flashy. It’s got a spot for the essentials: your keys and credit cards/cash. Use an old pair of headphones you don’t mind getting dirty or sweaty. Leave those extremely large headphones home; In our opinion they’re too much. We all like to have great sounding music, but let’s pick functionality at the gym over orchestra quality sound. As far as music, we like to have a specific gym playlist ready to go so that no time is wasted. We suggest against putting on your entire music library on shuffle. Wasting time skipping songs can really mess up your rhythm to your workout.

(POST WORKOUT) 7. Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Double Rich Chocolate 5 lBs - $57.99
 8. BlenderBottle® Classic 28-ounce - $5.99

Your sweaty, tired and your body is screaming at you. Protein is what you need, ASAP. Gold Standard Whey is one of the best as far as taste and price. You usually can’t go wrong with a chocolate flavor. With water or milk as the base, it usually tastes pretty good. Add peanut butter and you’ve got a tasty little post-workout shake. They do make other flavors, but tread lightly.
