END OF SUMMER SUEDE
Towards the end of summer, the sun starts setting earlier and it usually starts to get a bit cooler outside. We’re not saying shorts are out of the question, but you can definitely pull out a light suede jacket for when the sun dips below the horizon. Keep the look simple…a solid pair of shorts with a solid tee, with contrast or without. This particular look pairs your basic white t-shirt with white chino shorts. On the bottom, you guessed it, a classic white pair of sneakers from our friends over at SWIMS! Their Breeze Tennis Knit Sneakers were our perfect summer sneaker this year. Never forget that you don’t need expensive clothes to make you look good. Some simple basics like a classic, clean pair of sneakers, the perfect pair of sunglasses and you’re ready for just about anything.
THE PERFECT WEEKEND POLO
There’s a reason why polos are one of the most iconic piece of mens clothing history. They go with everything. Polos are just one of those pieces of clothing that make guys looks super stylish and cool, no matter the fabric or pattern. With the right additional pieces, you take a polo, which is normally worn too big and baggy by guys and make it look refined and stylish. This look is also, all about simplicity. Men’s clothing doesn’t have to be complex. Find a fine knit or pique knit polo in a color that compliments your skin tone. Make sure its fitted, not skin tight but not too baggy. This Yellow/khaki hue makes for a perfect compliment with a classic blue trouser. This look too boring? Maybe add a patterned trouser to catch people’s attention. A subtle glen-plaid trouser like these can make the look a touch more interesting. On bottom, we’re wearing this years favorite sneaker. It’s the weekend, you should be in comfortable sneaker. Also, traveling means you’ll have to slip these on and off when flying. Finish this totally affordable and achievable look with a real stunner: This leather duffle from Beckett Simonon is the perfect travel companion for the well-tailored man who wants to make a great first impression. The color, the leather quality, the details. A accessory can really make all the difference when your keeping your look super simple.
SUITED AND SNEAKERED
Attention: for the entire suit-wearing purists out there, look away. That being said, one of our go-to ways of wearing a suit this year has been with a t-shirt and sneakers. Wearing a suit with sneakers getting a bad wrap these days. The purpose of this look is about 2 things: one, staying cool in warmer temperatures and two, appearing more relaxed. Typically wearing a suit in society has meant that you work in business, finance or law. In recent years, suits have seen a comeback as a more versatile garment. Worn as separates or worn in a more casual setting, your suits should be a workhorse. Start by sticking to something solid. This peak-lapel navy suit from Suitopia is the perfect base for a casual, cool look. Next, find a neutral t-shirt or polo, one that is ideally going to pop underneath your jacket. Last but not least, the refined sneaker. We’re not talking about your everyday Chuck Taylor. Were talking high-quality, well-made sneaker. Aim for something in a rich suede or leather.
We picked up these Cobbler Union Uno Sneakers to compliment our suited style this season and we couldn’t be happier. Not only are these sneakers well made, but they also use the same grade of suede typically seen in their men’s dress shoes. Their stitch detailing on the body of the sneaker make this shoe so unique and a one-of-a kind option in the market. Remember never sacrifice quality for style. You get what you pay for. Invest in well-made clothing and footwear and you’ll have them for years to come.
